Privacy Policy
Idea0 is a website where you can design letters, add photos, audio, video and music, and share them with other people. This policy explains what information we handle and why.
1. Who is responsible
Idea0 is run by its owner “we”. You can contact us about privacy at idea0.packet@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Your password is handled by our login provider and stored in a protected (hashed) form, so we cannot read it.
- Your letters: titles, text, design choices (such as colors, fonts and stickers), the music you pick, and the share code of each letter.
- Files you upload: images, audio and video you add to a letter or use as background music.
- Technical data: like most websites, our hosting and database providers process your IP address, browser type and request times in their server logs.
- Usage statistics: if analytics is switched on(currently off), we count page views using GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies and does not track you across websites. It records things like the page visited, referring site, browser, screen size and approximate country. We do not send it your letter share codes, titles or contents, and we respect your browser’s Do Not Track setting.
3. How we use information
- To create your account, keep you logged in and store your letters.
- To show a letter to anyone who has its link.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to understand which pages are used so we can improve them.
We do not sell your information and we do not show advertising.
4. Sharing letters
Anyone who has a letter’s link, QR code or share code can read that letter. Uploaded images, audio and video are stored at public addresses, so anyone who has a file’s address can open it. Please do not put passwords, ID numbers or other sensitive details in a letter. If you delete a letter, its uploaded files are deleted too.
5. Services we use
To run Idea0 we rely on these providers, and they may process data as described in their own policies:
- Supabase: database, login and file storage.
- Cloudflare: website hosting.
- GitHub: stores the website’s code and runs a scheduled check that keeps the database awake. It does not receive your letters.
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs: deliver fonts and open-source code libraries. Your browser contacts them when a page loads, so they can see your IP address.
- Openverse: if you search for free music, your search words are sent to Openverse. Music loaded from other websites may also be fetched from those sites when a letter is opened.
- GoatCounter: usage statistics, as described above.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser’s storage to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may also cache files so the site loads faster.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and letters until you delete them or ask us to remove your account. Deleted letters and their files are removed from our systems. Provider logs are kept according to each provider’s own schedule.
8. Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete your letters at any time while logged in. To access, correct, export or delete your account information, email us at the address above. Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU GDPR or the Philippines Data Privacy Act may give you additional rights, and we will honor them where they apply.
9. Children
Idea0 is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access rules so that only you can see and change your own letters. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
